An auctioneer...and a Westbound 37A at South Fork, Pa on the NS West Slope...

South Fork, Pa is a small community on the West Slope of the former PRR mainline, now NS.....It is located roughly 9 railroad miles East of Johnstown, Pa and there was once a dam nearby that burst way back in 1889 that caused the big Johnstown flood......My parents were born and raised in South Fork during the PRR Steam era and I spent many hours there as a kid watching trains during the end of the PRR on through Conrail...

Nowadays, I return to the town often to railfan....

On Saturday, I was perched on an old bridge abutment (from a bridge removed back in the mid 1980's) where I caught a Westbound 37A mixed freight with EMD power front and rear....

An Estate auction was going on nearby, and the auctioneer was doing his job selling off the goods...

The auctioneer can be heard as the train approached....and moreso as the rear of the train rolled out of view on a warm late August afternoon on the NS West Slope...
