Triple Crown to Fort Worth
Posted by Convicted One on Friday, May 28, 2010 10:20 AM

I was watching a rather dated video last night showing BNSF traffic on the Arkansas City/Douglas/Emporia sub divisions, routing traffic from Oklahoma City to Argentine yard. During the trip they showed Triple Crown traffic coming  the other way from Argentine yard, and said the destination was Fort Worth, Texas.

Now that NS has the Meridian Speedway, do these trains still route through South Eastern Kansas,or have they been re-routed to take advantage of the NS/KCS agreement?

And for the Trains Magazine staffers, how about a more indepth feature article  on Triple Crown, giving some indication if this service is paying off for NS, or if it's still a loss leader? (I know they have been keeping this info close to their chests), My thought was that with your talents you might poke through their veils of secrecy?

NS/BNSF has a Triple Crown facility at Ft.Worth,TX. Just went by there the other day and a train had just came in from Tulsa, OK with a NS locomotive. I do not know where the train goes once it arrives at Tulsa.

The best route from the TCS Ft. Wayne IN hub to Fort Worth is via BNSF at KC. The RoadRailer train still goes that way.
