Mural in Shafter, CA
Posted by THE.RR on Monday, April 12, 2010 11:32 PM

Someone, I think on another site that I do not have posting rights to, asked about a mural he saw outside of Wasco, CA.  I happened to be going to Bakersfield the next day, so took a little drive up north.  I made a side trip in Shafter, and this is what I found.  Painted in 2001, on the N side of the Floyd's Ace Hardware on Central Ave next to the ex Santa Fe main.  I don't think the PA's were ever used on the Golden Gates, but I will take it.

Thanks for going after it and sharing your find here Bow  That is unusual - but since we can't have the real thing any more, better to have the representation of it to preserve and honor the experience and heritage, than not.  I can think of a lot worse things to have to look at . . .

Thanks again.   Thumbs Up
