I have run a crew member to a crossing or many over the years.
I just chalk it up to good will between railroad crews and railfans and we need all the goodwill that we can get.

There is no such thing as a bad day of railfanning. So many trains, so little time.

Billing CN for the gas would be a good way to get the crew fired, but I doubt you'd ever sdee a cheque...

Out linesiding this afternoon at Page near Mission BC , East bound CN # 306 , CN 2453, WC 6005 - interesting enough as WC not that common in BC . Train stops at crossing waiting for river bridge to open . Conductor steps off & asks me - can I run him in my truck back a couple of crossings, as the train is over 10000 ft & he is not sure he cleared it ! -- Hey no problem, always glad to keep the railroad running .
Any of you folks out there with similar stories ?
Doing my part for CN -- can I bill them for gas???
