Thank you all for the birthday wishes.

I am sitting here in two blankets, looking every bit like a great-grandmother.  Even sprinkled in a few naps for good measure.

In case you missed it on another thread, I will be moving my bd to June.  Always have cold and usually snow for bd, so would like to have warm air and sunshine or maybe even a spring shower for the day.  I am getting a gift of about 7-9 inches of snow tonite and tomorrow, and being a good forum citizen, will share with the entire population east of us!

Enjoy!

And while I wasn't there, please remember it is also Pearl Harbor Day.  Lest we forget.

Ya know, if you move to Texas...we have snow that melts 10 minutes after it stops snowing...and we also have...Palm trees, white sandy beaches, warm gulf breezes and all the honky tonks you could want!

We also celebrate birthdays when ever we feel like it!

And we never forget what today is, besides your birthday....my dads ship was on its way to San Francisco for a re fit and they were re-tasked back to Pearl.

Mookie

Houston Ed - you also have rattlesnakes, scorpions, tarantulas and lots of black widows - I lived in Oklahoma for 9 months!  And the ones that I saw all had Texas drivers licenses!  At least our snow is only around for maybe 5 mos.

Chad - I saw your snow on television - but then who can believe anything from tv anymore?  Big Smile

Houston Ed - you also have rattlesnakes, scorpions, tarantulas and lots of black widows....

See, that's why I live in the north woods.  We may be frozen for half the year (less, actually), but last time I saw a rattler was at the zoo.  Not that they aren't around, but we don't consider them a major threat...

And we might have one of them eight legged critters that'll cause more than a lot of itching if it gets you.

We have, however, learned to slow down when it snows (at least after the first snowfall - that's always a massacre).

I think you can believe that California report, SJ--my son-in-law reports scraping ice from his windshield in Santa Barbara this morning.

We, meanwhile, are going to have anywhere from five to nine inches of snow and sleet to clear by tomorrow. And this isn't even a "winter storm"--that's to our north and west.

So, what happened to those dreadful Killer Bees that were invading Texas 10 or 20 years ago? Did they mellow out?

Aw, c'mon, Dale--those bees got to Texas, but nobody noticed, 'cause they're no worse than Texas mosquitoes. You might hear something when they cross Texas for Oklahoma, but--given the size of Texas--that may take eons!

EdB...I refuse to drive anywhere near the DFW area...the drivers in Dallas are...well crazy would be the nicest thing I could come up with.
Having dented doors is a badge of pride with them...turn signals are the thing you hang that little pine tree air freshner from.

Next trip to Mookieville will be around DFW, even if it means taking the long way to Nebraska.

Dale, Carl was right, the skeeters got 'em...and we took the few  survivors to Gilleys, taught them to two step, and got them drunk on Lone Star beer!

Its gonna be a while before they sober up......
