The Peter A. Hansen story of the Kansas City Southern's Christmas Train. A seasonal heartwarmer in my opinion.
Jeff Mast's story on the 1225... Any story/pictures of Lima's Berks is good !
The December issue is almost always my favorite issue each year. Always seem to have RR vs the elements articles, corporate heart/pride stories, as well as personal tales of the holidays.
My only complaint is that it arrives a little too early for the overall "holiday spirit" but I guess it would be a little strange to postpone it to the January issue. Hey...maybe I just hit on an idea for another annual special issue, call it Holiday 20XX and keep the December issue normal.

The Joel Jensen story of BNSF's Montana Division - especially the reference to the Howdy Hotel in Forsyth - seen that many times over the decades when traveling to/from Miles City from Billings, Red Lodge, etc.
Wish I had a camera when I first saw a coal train running east through Miles City - pulled by a set of NP F units (this was 1969).
