Dan, I should be able to mail it Monday 11-9; it took me a bit longer to read than my earlier estimate, as it got a bit more interesting as it went on.
I thought it was an interesting read. I learned a lot I didn't know before regarding the railroad's history.

Chad about half way thru it. Man no wonder anything the Goverment touches is so SCREWED UP when it comes to regulations. Heck I look at the FMCSA and the HOS we had a system that worked for 70 years and then they changed it. Now they are going for their 4 try to fix what was NOT BROKE and will still not listen to the drivers as to what is wrong with the industry.
Same issues are there in the RR yet the workers are the last to get asked.
zardoz Murphy SidingYou forgot tornadoes. We get enough in the way of tornados and severe storms here in SE Wisconsin, although not nearly as many as the rest of Wisconsin, and nowhere near the number that occur in Oklahoma and Texas. I would think that you get enough of them in South Dakota as well: http://www.spc.noaa.gov/faq/tornado/stalley.gif Story of a S.D. tornado: http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2003/06/0627_030627_tvtornadochaser.html

The National Geographic link failed to mention that the entire town of Manchester was wiped out in that tornado. No one was badly injured, but all 6 residents moved elsewhere and Manchester is officially a ghost town.
Reality TV is to reality, what Professional Wrestling is to Professional Brain Surgery.

Got it today. Once I have a chance to get into it and see how it reads I'll give a guesstimate of how long it'll take me. What a neat concept...almost like a print exchange (photos).
Twofer: To give away to two (2) good homes: I have 2 copies of America's Colorfull Railroads by Don Ball, Jr. ( For whatever reason, I have 3 copies, but am keeping one for myself.) If you're not familiar with this author, his books are heavy into railroad photography, featuring late steam / first generation diesel. This book is copyright 1978. I'd be happy to mail these to the first 2 posters who tell me on this thread that they are interested .
Thanks to Chris / CopCarSS for my avatar.
I will thank my son for waking me up...and posting that I'm interested!
Make that 2 interested....
And we have 2. Ed- PM me your address again. Thanks
And Ed send it to me when done again. Dang I hate missing out on being first. Also Chad Leaders Count is on the way to you mailed it out today.
Yup and yup...
This one might be more of the keeper variety, rather than the read and pass along variety. I'll let Houston Ed decide that. Both copies should mail out early next week.
