Well, First of all..Sign - Welcome   Hope you enjoy your time here, can be interesting and informative!

You can start here with the railroads own web site:  http://www.varail.com/wwhome.htm

The go into SEARCH mode; Google, or Bing or Yahoo.. Enter Winchester& Western RR. I found several web sites, including a Wikipedia, and a couple with motivepower photos, but w/copywrite-reproduction issues.. Good Hunting!

First of all, if you are still in the Winchester area, visit the Handley Library and check in the reference section for the WW book published by the NRHS some years ago.  I know that the WW office at 126 E Piccadilly Street had a copy when I retired from the WW in 2006.  Secondly, the WW is rail fan-friendly: visit the office and President Phil Light may have time to answer some questions (call ahead, to be sure).  Last resort, call me, I'm in the Frederick Co, VA phone book.  John W Hood, RetGM (not of the WW, however)

Fireman01:-

You may be interested to know that Winchester and Western has a pool of 42-ft. covered hoppers that are moving Industrial Sand from a loading point in north central Arkansas to a glass plant in Weld County, Colorado.  Among the glass plant's customers is the Anheuser-Busch brewery in nearby Fort Collins.
