Tom, Mookie and Cannonball:  you're all on the ball this morning!  Here's today's menu:

1.  Beef stew w/cornbread (there's just enough left for anyone's lunch today)

2.  Spaghetti w/meatballs, Waldorf salad

Desserts:  chocolate cake w/chocolate icing, apple struedel, apple cobbler w/ice cream available to go on/with all desserts.

And yes, there's warm cider available for Cannonball, mudchicken, and anyone else who wants some!

I left just before 9 a.m. this morning, to go to the Post Office and then to the grocery store.  Managed to bypass any cakes, etc., in the Deli/Bakery, without getting anything (and believe you me, that is really something for me)!! (I did not have breakfast this morning.

The sun is shining brightly, but hear that rain will be in later on tonight.  I think we've gone three or four days without any rain, now going to get some more!

Everyone enjoy your afternoon ,and take care.

Mookie
That is twice you have overslept.

Just practicing for the first of the year, when I will be able to oversleep every day and have only myself to answer to....

Dear Tree:  That is twice you have overslept.  Now Mother Mookie must step in with her cure-all.  For a modest stipend per month, she will have you leave your puter on, close to your bed, and your speaker on high.

Each morning, she will make sure that you wake up on time and add a bonus of making you shake until you get your first cup of coffee!

I have the required equipment in place - an aluminum soup pot and a heavy spoon.

Still working on the details of how the duplex neighbors will receive this - but - they know I am not working and need a little part-time job.  (think neighbor with upstairs bedroom like ours is deaf from his music anyway!)

We are an EOEmployee....we work cheap!

Service available throughout east and central time zones (mountain and pacific will just have to get up a little early)

Beautiful sunny morning here, and earlier our weather instrument indicated 43 degrees, but strangly enough....it appeared we had some frost in our backyard.  No wind, calm.  My weather temp pickup is 5' off the ground and I believe there can be that much difference down on the surface.

Congratulations to the Cannonball family for such a good figure of 55....Must have married as teenagers...ha.

So, I remember shutting off the alarm this morning.  The next thing I remember was half waking up and thinking that it was getting awfully light outside, followed quickly by a glance at the clock that indicated that I should have left for work 10 minutes ago...

We changed our name at work today.  Now we have to change all the references (sigs on email, business cards, etc) from the old name to the new...

I've still got time for tea and a bearclaw, though.

I think it is early?  Trying to type this with mah eyes closed.

Storm that looked so bad last nite blew past us like an MT coal train in western NE.  It went east somewhere...

CW - s'ghetti and meatballs.  Can you make a Waldorf salad?  Yum.  And as GPPB sez - anything chocolate.

Laundry done - will collect and then must have some coffee or won't make it to grocery store this pm.

Yawn - maybe a stopover in the hammock will work....

CW, time sure flys by ya at times. Point~~~ this next week Shirl & I will see our 55th. wedding day here in the mountains. No big affair , just a get together with the kids. I guess the 55yrs. is big enough.  We haven't killed one another ~~ yet. LOL Got any peach cobbler /w ice cream ??  and wash it down with coffee .

                          Respectfully, Shirl & Cannonball

Good Thursday morning, everyone.  Cannonball, what day next week, is your and Shirl's anniversary?  Maybe we can help you all celebrate, here in the Cafe/Diner!

Diningcar Jack, welcome back!  You have been missed, at least by me, as I always miss our friends who are MIA for awhile.

Coffee, juices and hot beverages are ready to go.  On the warmer bar this morning:  bacon, eggs, oatmeal, toast, biscuits & gravy, bagels and bear claws.  And there's some peach cobbler ala mode for Cannonball.

It didn't get as cool overnight as they thought it would:  it's 50 degrees here in the downtown area, although some in the outlying areas are waking up to temps in the lower 40s this morning.

If any of you have any meal requests for today, just let me know, and I'll be happy to oblige.  Everyone have a good morning, be safe and take care.

I'll be looking forward to visiting with all who drop in.

We heard thunder sometime in the night, and we had cold rain for much of the day. We expect the temperature to be in the thirties in the morning, so the furnace will come on (it has not yet come on today) in the night.

CW and all, I am back from travels and will be hungry in the AM. No problem as there are always good treats and eats. I will have regular coffee black and what ever else is available.

Here we are in our new digs.  Looking forward to the new month, and everything is spick and span clean and fresh, like the autumn air.

Same old rules:  We can all gather to talk and discuss anything and everything, trains and whatever, except politics and religion, and no alcohol is served in here.  Keep the language clean, as there are some youngins who hang out in here.

One other thing:  You don't miff the cat or the cook.  See you all in the morning!
