Hello,
The latest TRAINS Magazine claims that the U.S. Gypsum operation in Southern California is the last freight-carrying 3-foot gauge railroad in the U.S.
Does this mean that the Palmetto Brick Co. in Wallace, SC stopped using its 1.1/2 mile line for hauling clay to the plant?
And are there any known 2'-6" or 2-foot gauge operations (apart from deep mining) still working?
Regards,
Thomas Kautzor.
