Increased Security At New Carrollton MD

I hear that new devices are being (or have been) installed at New Carrollton MD to check baggage as security measures. Why was New Carrollton chosen for this?

The news report that I heard was that stations serving both MARC and Amtrak would be selected for this. BWI Rail, Baltimore Penn and Aberdeen MD should have gotten the devices, too.

You can expect delays, but I don't know how long the additional wait will be.
