Must be a car virus this week. Our old '81 wouldn't start this morning - (it is raining - a fine mist and it always affects the LTD!) So Millie got a treat and got to go to work with the driver this morning! Had breakfast at home, so will read Garfield over on my blanket in the corner. ^-^

Good Morning. I need coffee and lots of it. After spending 4 hours waiting for my car to be repaired yesterday. AH! All I needed was a battery and a new belt. 4 hours!

Good morning, everyone.

Breakfast will be:

turkey bacon, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, grape and strawberry
jelly to go with the biscuits; or, if you prefer: oatmeal and toast.

And if anyone wants cinnamon toast, can make that also.

Joe, are the paw prints big? If so, locomutt must have made them. He
helped me bring it in to the diner. Must remember to ask him next time
to keep his hands on the side or bottom of the cake pan.

Sounds like I need some Maalox; saurkraut is good but it gives me heartburn sometimes.

Hey, looking for a cup of coffee...straight and black. I heard the food's so-so here, but the coffee could be cut with a knife...but with the RR's running, I think I'll sit down in a booth and read the paper.

I can't vouch for the coffee, Ron, (although the knife analogy is probably appropriate sometimes), but the food here is always great, and sometimes better than that. Keep an eye on the specials. Sometimes plain, sometimes fancy, but always delicious. And you can't keep better company than you find here.
And....to add to the confusion - people are lighting fireplaces and it is causing "false" runs.

Give me some ideas, please, Madam LaMook.

Scott, I'll pass on the pancakes. But give me some scrambled eggs, 2 sausage
patties, and two biscuits with sausage gravy. And a cup of Folger's Breakfast
Blend coffee, and a glass of orange juice.

NJ Mike, Where are you?! Haven't seen you in the Diner for a couple of days!!

And it's good to see all the layouts running this morning. Cool looking engines
running along the tracks.
Suppose he would like a homemade pork roast and sauerkraut. They could smell the diner in a fog that way! [:)]

Ah thank god. I couldn't find this place; though Bergie closed down the diner.

I'll have some coffee to wash down my nitro.

Well, South is having wild weather, Califohnia is having rain, I-Midwest is having rain and what are we doing? As usual, nothing. Cloudy, fog, humid - only place with winter bedding and a fan at nite.

I am going to have a good cup of coffee - maybe Andrew can make me a big cup of cafe au lait and I will read a good book in the corner. Can't watch TV, can't read the paper - too much politics (and we already voted) so will sulk in corner. Maybe CW and I can have some girl talk!

Across the street from the Noth Platte depot was, of course, the North Platte Cafe. This was a favorite hangout of railroaders, my Grandmother told me. Well, the food was real good. For $1.10 you got a complete meal with a cup of ice cream for dessert. The complete meal would include pot roast, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegtables, and a glass of milk. I have never forgotten how good it tasted and how you got so much for so little expense.
And my Dad had the run from Lincoln to Grand Island on the CB&Q and BN. Suppose their paths ever crossed?

I have two questions. Did he have latex gloves on underneath? Also, was there another guy wearing a ski mask saying "Who am I?" and when OJ was trying to pull on a glove that was too small "If the glove don't fit, you must quit" (a pun on the actual quote)?
