Good eveing everyone how is we all doin tonight fine and dandy. I hope well today is sunday but I don't have to go to work tomorrow cause I'm takin another sick day which means I get to sleep in late again yea. But anywho valentines day is also coming up which means total heck for all of the flower people out there and I feel real bad for those on the east coast all of the snow they have gotten over the last couple of days can't be good. But for the other people they are finally havin fun with all of thesnow they have gotten. But anywho Cw what was for dinner since I missed the call. Oh and sarah can you send me some snow but after tuesday. Yhanks but oh well that's really about it from this end hope to be talkin to you all soon and have a good night.

Got pics from MD resident stepdaughter today. 6 month old Mia with a "What the ....?" look on her face. A good foot in Columbia and the DC-Baltimore area. Is Amtrak running on the NEC?

Last I heard, the NEC had a few cancellations, but was in much better shape than anything else, with good timekeeping.

I don't understand that kid's fascination with snow. I'm pretty sure I'd outgrown it by her age. Still, there's no hurry--she'll be a cynical old so-and-so like me too soon, anyway.

Hey - I still like snow. I'm not into any of the winter sports, but it provides a seasonal counterpoint to summer, and is very much a part of life here. I've got my trusty snowblower, and the town and state do a good job of keeping up with the roads.

On the other hand, my dear mother, who was born and grew up in the wilds of Tug Hill, now lives in Phoenix and has absolutely no desire to see snow again.

want to get out of my warm bed. Don't even know what the current temp is

Coffee and juice are ready; turkey bacon and sausage are in the skillets frying.

Tell "Ma" to lock her doors and sharpen the needles on her cacti. Mud is hanging out at 44th & Washington for a few days with about 40 other railroaders. Return to Denver about the same time the snow comes back to town. 80 Degrees here today, ran the AC yesterday.

Talked to her last night, actually. Aside from the usual family chit-chat, she said that they are now up to around day 100 without rain, and this is the rainy season...

I am still cold! Just cannot get warmed up, no matter what
I do. Therefore, it is soup day in the diner: vegetable beef, potato, cream of
mushroom, cream of brocolli, and tomato soup. Have the oven broiler going
to grilled cheese sandwiches to go with the soup.

Also have plenty of cobbler, pie and cake for dessert.

Sarah- Congrats on your gold star status. Glad you got your snow. My favorite snow activity is what we call hookeybobin where we tie intertubes to the bumper of a truck with 20-25' of rope and go blastin around on the icy roads. You can really get whippin around on turns. Big fun.

Well, the sun is out and it is a little warmer than it was the last two days. It was very cold and these last two days I was in the supply truck. BURRRRR ! ! !

We are going to have some warmer weather during the days but the night will be dropping down close to freezin, or even freezing. [:(] That warmer than normal January sure was nice but I am not too fond of February so far. [;)]

Well got to go, time to start lunch and walk the dog. Then time to get ready for work.

Our supper at work tonight will be Chili Cheese dogs, and Frito Pie. I can't wait. [:p] I will probally have some left over, so come join us. [;)]

Carl, you wanted to know why I have an obsession (spelling) with snow?// The main reason why is because, I've always been a winter sports fan from playing ice hockey to snowboarding. Joe, thanks for sending the Saint Bernards (spelling) after me yesterday! That was really thoughtful, I might of lost my way back home in the White Out yesterday.

The roads here in Philadelphia are very clear, driving is no porblem today. For those of you wanting to know more about the traffic on the NEC, there have been cancelations of all trains up to New York City, Hoboken, and Newark. I don't know if the trains will be up and runing to these places tomorrow. New York City received 26.9 inches of snow, my area of Philadelphia received 18 inches. SEPTA believe it or not was runing on time and on schedule today.

CW I think I will take some of that Cream of Mushroom soup. I sympathise with you it is COLD up here in Pennsylvania too!

Amtk200, if my memory serves me correctly (and anyone can correct me if
I'm wrong), Frito pie is made when you open a can of chilli (no beans), and
pour them over a layer of Fritos in your pan or casserole dish. Then, after it's
baked in the oven, you top it with diced tomatoes and shredded lettuce.

My brother made it for us, after he moved back from New Mexico years ago.
Maybe I need to call him tomorrow and get the recipe from him.[;)]

We had reasonably warm temperatures up here today (with even warmer ones expected for the next couple of days), something for which I fear we'll be paying later in the week.

Sarah, I agree with you that the snow may be pretty, both while it's falling (the less wind the better) and after it's fallen. But once one has to begin driving through it again, or is challenged to keep the cars rolling like they should, sentiments like those, if expressed too loudly, could be grounds for execution!

Sarah - read the second poem on the page. Sort of sums up why snow can be so interesting.

Besides - eventually it goes away and we can say - "Boy, I'm glad that's over with for this year!"

On the other hand, it's snowing here right now (the lake effect machine has kicked in), and the scanner hasn't shut up for the last couple of hours. Everyone seems to have forgotten how to drive in snow again.[:(!]

At least there hasn't been anything serious.

Thanks CW for that I was always wonder what that one was. Good Dinner tonight by the way. Nothing much has been going on lately with me just busy with School Work and all of that, almost half way thru the Quarter.

Good Tuesday morning, everyone! Well, we've got a temp of 33 outside this a.m., and
supposed to get up to 50 today. But then Saturday and Sunday, highs in the low 30s.
Yuck!!

Breakfast this morning: on the warmer bar, you'll find:
turkey bacon, sausage, sausage gravy, biscuits, ham, oatmeal, and toast.

As today is Produce Day, I'm hoping we get something other than potatoes. Think
I've got potatoes running out my ears!! Wi***hey'd bring some onions. They haven't
brought onions for three months!!

Lunch today will be the regular lunch menu: burgers, hot dogs, fries, grilled cheese,
and tuna salad sandwiches.

Haven't seen her, Carl. And I've checked all her hiding places!! Certainly hope
that neither she nor Driver are sick.

Got some nice iceberg lettuce, potatoes, red sweet peppers, oranges, orange
juice and green beans at Produce today. Except I didn't pick up a bag of the
potatoes when I left. Have two bags in the fridge: a bag of red potatoes, and a
bag of white potatoes.

Maybe the lunch special will bring out our favorite kitty person: tuna casserole,
with green beans and potatoes on the side. And if I remember to go get a bag
of sugar, there'll be some No Bake Chocolate Oatmeal cookies for dessert.

How does meat loaf sound for supper, you all? Thinking about fixing that for
supper.

Joe, be sure and thank Matt for me for putting out the candy hearts at
each place on the tables.

....Don't know the exact temp here now...{sun shining on temp. sending unit}, but it must be in low 40's....and clear blue sky, bright sun. Ran my truck through the car wash and stopped by the License Branch and now have new drivers license for the next 3 years.....Used to be for six and cost half as much.
