Deshler Ohio-crossroads of the B&O Matt eats your fries.YUM! Clinton st viaduct undefeated against too tall trucks!!!(voted to be called the "Clinton St. can opener").
BLT sounds like a winner. Looking a little grey off to the west - I'll get everything buttoned down.

Joe, Larry, and everyone else, the BLTs sound like a great idea. To go along with them, you can have: fries, tater wedges, chips, along with a nice, fresh garden salad.
Dessert today: strawberry shortcakes.
Tuesday Produce went pretty well this morning. The truck showed up about 9:45, and we had 61 people (12 of those were myself and the helpers who help unload the truck and hand out the food). Not bad, considering it kept looking like it would start raining any time. So far, we've not gotten any rain, and the sun is now shining. Think the rain will probably hold off until around 4, 5:00 this afternoon.
Everyone have a great afternoon, and take care!
....It finally hit 90 degrees again here this afternoon....but the humidity being relatively low, makes it almost a non issue.
A mostly sunny day.
Quentin
good morning
rained all night last night at work so its nice and muggy outside right now.First night back at work is always the hardest.Time for a nap.We do have some cinnamon rolls and juice ready to go as well.
Good morning! It looks like I'm the first one in here this morning, although Paula might be lurking just around the corner......for breakfast this morning we've got blueberry pancakes, waffles, french toast, all with hot, maple syrup, scrambled eggs, bacon and pork sausage links. Plus there is plenty of freshly brewed coffee and I've mixed a fresh batch of orange juice.
It's a cool morning here in my hometown of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, 50 degrees here, but we have a 60% chance of developing a thunderstorm. I think I heard some thunder off in the distance a little while ago.
I hope the rest of you out there all have a very good day!
Ray ooo ooo ooOOOOOo
Good Wednesday morning, everyone. Joe and Ray, thank you to both of you for fixing breakfast this morning!
As of right now, we have cloudy skies. When I awoke earlier, we were getting a light rain; then, about the time I would have been booting up the computer, we had a thundershower come through. When I took the dog out, I looked at the rain gauge on the way back in. Overnight and this morning, we had just over an inch of rain in the rain gauge. Supposed to have more thoughout the day today (not a constant rain though, just off and on).
We have a new addition to our household. Sarah got herself a kitty yesterday. Her name is Uba, and she's a two year old Mankz (know of the breed, but can't remember how its spelled!). We'll try to get a couple of pictures later.
You all have a very good morning, and if anyone has a meal request for later, please let me know, and everyone take care.
CW - Manx - tailess cat? Like it was taken out of the oven too early? And Uba means?
She who has no signature! cinscocom-tmw
Just a very light rain here at times this morning.....Something rare around here in the last couple of weeks.
Also, windows shut and A/C running...mostly to keep check on a bit highter humidity. First for that in a couple of weeks too. We actually got up to 90 plus here yesterday....but humidiy was relatively low and didn't seem that warm.
Nice photos from various forum members of the steam meet....Nice to see 765 active again....She used to be almost a regular visitor here in Muncie....Just 70 miles from her home. Many years ago I saw 765 {and took a pic of her}, incased in a chain link fence in the Ft. Wayne area....and that was before she became famous. I wonder where my photo might be found....It's here someplace.
I remember we were driving an almost new '62 super sport Chevy at the time so that gives an idea of how distant in time that was. Sometime after that she was "rescued" and restored to operating condition.
CW - just in case you were feeling a little overloaded in the cafe/diner kitchen - just heard from the Driver that he "marked" 777 individual chix "white meat" (can't say what they were on here). They put them on the grill for "marks" and then cook them later for a catering.
I can barely do 2 for us, I can't imagine 777 along with 100 or so pounds of potatoes, pounds of veggies, etc. It boggles my mind and I was in food service.
Back to doing my chores!
Mookie CW - Manx - tailess cat? Like it was taken out of the oven too early? And Uba means?
Here is a quotation from the Manx cat reference: "The Manx are said to be skilled hunters, known to take down larger prey even when they are young. They are often sought by farmers with rodent problems." Perhaps Quentin should look into borrowing the cat if he has further problems with moles.
Incidentally, I recently learned of another possible way to get rid of moles and such: use a Rodentator. A WHAT? It seems that there is a device which you use to pump propane and oxygen down a gopher or mole hole until you believe you have filled the tunnel--and then you ignite the mixture. KABOOM! I hope the result is not as spectacular as the result of Marmaduke's mole hunting.
Johnny
Mookie: grilled chicken it is, along with some grilled burgers and hot dogs. (I think I can get more grilled for supper tonight, as long as I dodge the afternoon rain showers: we're to have a couple more rounds coming in sometime this afternoon.) To go along with the grilled items, we also have: potato chips, potato salad, cole slaw, garden salad, pork & beans, and grilled corn on the cob.
Also, Mookie, thanks for letting me know the correct spelling of Manx! And Johnny, thanks for the info regarding the Manx breed! Yes, she has no switchy tail. And she is as light as a feather, too. "Grampy Walt" got several pictures of her this morning, as she was exploring the bathroom, hall, and window sill at the top of the stairs. And she seems to be a very loving kitty cat. Needless to say, I think Trapper is feeling a bit rejected, even though we're still paying as much attention to him as always.
Deggesty [snip] Perhaps Quentin should look into borrowing the cat if he has further problems with moles. Uhhh - stick with the cat, please - it's far more predictable.
The 'Rodentator' seems like it would be a variation on a Fuel-Air Explosive ['FAE' or 'FAX'], vapor cloud explosion [like dust in grain silos], or a 'thermo-baric' weapon. I've read a lot of reports of homeowners and contractors doing various things with volatile flammable liquids and gases - from fumigation to refinishing floors - where that kind of result has happened. The effects range from complete destruction of the house above the basement, to an intense conflagration that burns it completely down even before the fire company arrives. Amazingly, often the people in the vicinity seem to escape without serious injuries, although I'm sure there are cases where that occurs. If the gas got into a basement or sewer pipe, etc. the result wouldn't be just as spectacular as Marmaduke's - it would be far more so. I'm sure that larry / tree68 will echo my concerns, and can provide other stories regarding this.

Johnny....Perhaps Moles now fear this {my}, territory....Score: Moles: 0
Quentin: 6. Now Mole free.

.....Hummm....I believe the "Rodentator", might produce equal or worse damage than the Mole family might.

Quentin and others; I too have been enjoying the pictures that have been posted of Train Fest, here's a link one of the guys from the Classic Toy Trains side posted...Rather a nice night shot.
Being Crazy, keeps you from going "INSANE" !! "The light at the end of the tunnel, has been turned off due to budget cuts" NOT AFRAID A Vet., and PROUD OF IT!!
As CW mentioned, here are a couple shots of the "new" kitty; Sarah thought Trapper should have a playmate. Not sure about loaning her out for rodent chasing, but...........
[and she does not get to chase model trains either, (nor Trapper) they're in a separate room!]
As far as the meaning(?) of Uba, I've found several which I really don't think they would match, or be appropriate as the meaning for her name.
They are:a small city in the state of Minas Gerias, Brazil; United Bank of Africa with headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria, and others that Babylon 8 sent me to Wikipedia for.
edit: I had meant to add that Uba is a rescue/stray gotten through Metro Louisville Animal Services.
Boy....that really is a nice shot Walt. {At steam meet}.
More of the grilled meats and side dishes are replenished on the warmer bar for tonight. You all enjoy, and have a very nice evening.
Good Thursday morning, everyone. Looks like no one was in here last night, so I'vebeen cleaning everything up from last night. Grill cleaned up and stored away, warmer bar cleared of the food, and cleaned up, etc.
Coffee, juices, etc. are ready. Cinnamon rolls, bagels and bear claws on the warmer bar.
Enjoy your day, and I may or may not be back in.
What a beautiful kittie..... I have always liked cats, but right now, only have 2 dogs. I had a cat named Fred once! At present, 73 and sunny in Carolina, expecting more lightning. I got chased off the wireless last night, and everything is disconnected. Everyone take care and stay cool.

COAST LINE FOREVER

Cw thanks for breakfast.matt and I went into town and mowed and went to the post office. We saw the maw pull some cars out of the csx siding at FC ,q 136,q 500, an autorack train and a up powder river coal train.Going to get cleaned up before its nap time.and tonight is friiiidayyyy
Back at work. It's amazing what a night in your own bed can do for you. A few more nights will be even better.
'Twas a long drive home, but a stop to see the grandson was a nice treat.
Now I've got to finish unpacking, drying out, and organizing. Then I can do things like mow (it's worse now than just before I left - and I was gone a whole 6 days!).
As I pointed out to a friend, I'm about "foamed out" for now.
Looks like our "non-event" rain has headed east. We got spit, you get a bath!
Trains are quiet this morning. I think they run according to the stock market Market must be down.
Tree - glad you are back home. Joe happy weekend. CW - 150 pounds of pasta for Driver to prepare, so maybe sgetti for supper? Their chicken went from 777 to 600 for weekend. Still sounds like a lot to me.
Sunny, cooler, quiet today. Grocery store this afternoon.

You should hear a few trains in an hour or two. A couple were just fleeted westbound past my house over the last half an hour.
This weather is really annoying me. Would it kill it to just pour for once?? There's another chance on Friday Night, but I imagine it'll split and go around Omaha and then merge back into a solid line once it's east of here.
Routine orthodontist appointment this afternoon... hopefully everything will look good. It's been a few years since my braces were taken off, but I'll need more braces soon. My 12 year molars (which are just coming in now that I'm 18) are not coming in straight.

Shhhh.....Don't scare the market....It's up, and quite a bit today....!
Evening all.
Had a terrible day yesterday. Had to put down my uncles dog. She was like a little sister to me. I’m really bummed out. Can’t wait for supper Cw.
Liked the pics of Trainfest. Glad all had fun.

Mookie, I like your idea for supper! So, I've got the spaghetti ready, with plenty of meat in the sauce. You also have a choice of Italian bread or Texas garlic toast to go with the spaghetti, along with freshly made garden salad.
Justin, I'm very sorry to hear about your uncle's dog. Know how bummed out you are feeling right now. Be comforted by the thought that she's no longer hurting, and is in a better place: running around Rainbow Bridge.
We've had a couple of thunder showers this afternoon. The first around 12:30, and one about an hour ago.
Willy, if I could, I'd send some of our rain back to you all in Nebraska!!
Everyone have a good evening, and take care.
Good Friday morning everyone.
Coffee, juices, and all the other morning beverages are ready. On the warmer bar this morning: plenty of doughnuts and danish to start your Friday morning, including bear claws and bagels.
We had a nice, gentle rain coming down last night, when I went to bed, around 10:30. Looks like it is out of our area, and going to have a beautiful day, with a high of 84. Think the current temp is hovering around 69, 70 degrees.
Everyone have a good morning, take care, and see you all later.
