Hi Matt! Good morning all!
A nice 71* here. Not as humid as it was yesterday. B-fast was good! Well, not much to talk about. Kind of weird to look at you all over my RailDriver. I will be operating with it in a while.
Have a good day all! I will see you this evening!

Hello there all. I want to thank each of you for the wonderful B-day wishes! I really mean it. It's nice to be remembered even though I don't visit the forums that much anymore. Thankx again. Most of my B-day was spent at the vet's office with mutt's and CW's doggie win. She's 13 years old, and gave all of us a scare two nights ago. She collapsed outside while she was out for walks. She's doing much better now though.
One thing that did make my day yesterday was seeing two trains. Hay and I wasn't even out railfaning. I was out grocery shopping . Both of these trains I'm pretty familar with due to the fact that they were on my railroad in my terminal. Nothing too rare really. The one train did have a GP30 on the head end though.
Well peoples I have to be going...gota do more errans.. booo
Good Monday morning, everyone. Slept in this morning, so Tom and Joe, thanks for opening up this morning, and fixing breakfast.
Yesterday was a wild one around home. Even though it was Sarah's birthday, she and I spent most of the day at the Vet's with Win the Dog. She seems to be doing better now, and is on a couple of new meds and back on one old med.
Everyone have a good morning, and if there's anything special you want today, let me know, and I'll start getting it fixed for our meals later on.
good morning

Deshler Ohio-crossroads of the B&O Matt eats your fries.YUM! Clinton st viaduct undefeated against too tall trucks!!!(voted to be called the "Clinton St. can opener").
Well, I seem to be first here this morning. Everybody gather at the breakfast bar and chow down, on the house. 72 and pea soup fog so thick I can barely see my closest neighbor's house, about a football field away. The government here has mandated that if I want any supper, I'd best gather my bones in a pile and set out for the grocery store, but think I'll wait a spell.... Everybody have a great day

We need a yard sale, too. When the wife closed her shop, everything wound up here, on the floors and in most chairs and couches. There is literally no place to sit and almost nowhere to walk. I've been hinting at a sale or Salvation Army or something, but so far no Joy. A belated birthday greeting to Matt and Miss Sarah. Everybody take care
Wait - It's Sarah's birthday, too?!?!? I should come around more often! (I got Matt over at the lounge.)
Well, Happy Birthday to Sarah!
Beautiful day here - no sign of the forecast thunderstorms (unless you happened to look north, across the border - I think they got a pretty good dose). Lawn Sale went reasonably well - moved most of the bigger stuff, but I still have two waterbeds. I think the clothes are headed for a local charity.
Time to get cleaned up and ready for tomorrow and the return to the grind.

Matt says thanks for the birthday wishes. All 3 wye tracks were used in Deshler today. We also got to run our trains on the layout.Matt is really getting used to his new bike.On the way home we reported to Carl that the q 90(produce express) was closing in on Holgate and then at harris road we saw an empty herzog ballast train.A good birthday for matt and a good day for us.I am glad I am off tonight.

Willy2 I've been reading Don Quixote for the last couple of weeks. I'm not sure why so many people these days don't like to read. Don Quixote is certainly not for everyone, but everybody ought to be able to find something enjoyable to read. I learned from my orthodontist earlier this week that I'm going to need to have my wisdom teeth pulled within a few weeks. That should be fun!

As to wisdom teeth, my second molars were pulled when I was in my teens so there would be room for my wisdom teeth to come. Now, I have, at most, one molar. Take care of your teeth! Incidentally, there are dentists around here who do nothing but take care of wisdom teeth.

Hi All!
A hot muggy 80* right now. Thankfully a cool breeze blowing through the door by the computer. That's refreshing. CW, thanks for lunch! Quintion, this doesn't have anything to do with rain. But I will tell this short story for all who want to listen.
The kids in my town love to skateboard. (I'm not one of them) Well, the kids inmy town are all cocky and act like thay own the place. so well thay just go right out and skate on the street. (highway too) Anyhow, our town is home to a large grain facility that's take's in grain from the local farmer's. Than thay will ship it off to be loadad into trains elesewhere. Well, a lot of trucks, seimi's,and tractor's blast I mean blast through town. So the kids are out skateboarding in the highway. A big yellow Kenworth truck keeps having to go around them each time he brings a load in. He does this for a bout 4 hours. Well, he get's tired of it so he guns it, and hit's there homade plywood skate board ramp... SMASH! Now all that's left of the ramp is quarter inch mear toothpicks of it's former self, and 2 skate boards were completley destroyed. Needless to say the kids didn't skateboard in the road anymore last summer. Wele see about this summer.
Interstate driving manners.....Perhaps all kinds of drivers should use a bit more common sense, especially in heavy downpours.
Turning on flashers sounds like a good idea to me when one has less than decent vision ahead due to the downpour and speed must be backed off a bit....not stopped....or even near stopped, but down to a manageable speed that helps to keep us all a bit safer.
I imagine we've all experienced some drivers {all kinds}, blasting by with sheets of water flying in all directions obliterating all driving visions to others around the speeder....

Murray It was 102 here yesterday...Currently 84 and headed for a high of 101...Off ot get the Sunday errands done before it gets any hotter. Enjoy your Sunday everyone!

It's interesting how diverse the weather is across our country. That's part of the reason I'm so fascinated by it. Here in Omaha, our temperatures have been below average each day this month. Right now it's only in the upper 60s. Only a few states south it's in the 100s, and to our north in the Dakotas they were still talking about frost a couple of days ago.

rvos1979 Parting thought: Anyone know why, when entering a torrential downpour, the four-wheelers always slam on their brakes and stop dead in the lane on the interstate? Nearly flattened one on Thursday because of that, she got a good dose of my air horn before she slowly moved onto the shoulder. Sigh...
I noticed in my travels a lot of states in the southeast put their flashers on when they have to slow for really heavy rain. I've also seen this done in NY State. Here in Texas I've not seen that. What I have seen here is that a lot of the crazy drivers end up doing a 360 before smacking into the Jersey Barrier. The highways here in and around San Antonio get real slick when it rains...since our rain is infrequent and we get a lot of oil buildup on the road.

Happy birthday to Matt and Sarah!
It's another cloudy morning here, but we didn't get any rain. There is a chance of more thunderstorms tonight and on Monday.
I think I'll go back to the thread about the Father's Day advertisement and read more about what constitutes "good citizenship"... it's very interesting, especially since I've come to the conclusion that I'm a "bad citizen" due to the fact that I liked the picture.
Happy Birthday to the young people!
Been sneezing rain off and on all morning. Birds are having dunkin' seeds this morning.
Tree - I always thought our vet was so kind when they sent sympathy and Christmas cards. I know it is good PR, but it is still a kind thought.
Driver fishing this morning. Bluegill are in close right now and bass are still hitting. He told a friend yesterday (within my earshot) that he kisses each one and then releases it. I have soapy water and mouthwash ready for him today.
Going out this afternoon to see if they are running anything but coal (yesterday) We need freight! & lots of it!

grampaw pettibone Larry, good to see you again. You have been on my mind the past few days after your recent loss. As I said earlier, I have been there and can empathise with you completely. Take care and remember, your friends are with you.

Thanks. I've been lurking now and then, but a long-overdue yard sale has been taking up my time - more for the keeping an eye on it than anything else.
Even the vet sent a card.

Maybe because they mistakenly believe that everyone else, including the truckers, are doing the same thing they are.
Happy birthday, Matt and Sarah!

Ahhh.... Cool air!
Was in Georgia the last few days, the AC in the truck got a workout trying to cool the air, figure it got up to 95 down in Albany. Up in Hebron, IN now, will run through Chicago to West Allis in a bit, see if anything will be coming out of WI today.
Happy birthday to Matt and Sarah, one of these days, Matt, when I overnight in Perrysburg, we will meet.....
MC, reminds me that there are two kinds of GPS on the market, those for cars, and those for trucks. Know of a few bridge hits because someone had the wrong GPS in a truck...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MATT AND SARAH!!!!
Joe, thanks for getting breakfast ready! Everything looks good.
It sounds like you all had a very good day yesterday for Matt's birthday party.
Everyone have a great morning, and take care.
Happy Birthday Matt and Sara
Modelcar the rain showers visited us yesterday afternoon but they decided to leave so we could have Matt's party outside.Everyone had a good time. The birthday boy wants to take his new bike over to Deshler.Going to be a good weather day here.Juice coffee and lemonade are ready to go.The usual breakfast items are on the warmer bar.

....As we were sitting outside this evening along with a neighbor visiting, I heard an aircraft approaching and commented it sounded like an antique plane approaching and sure enough, when it came into view it was a bi-plane with a radial engine passing by.
Those predicted, possible rain showers did not show up today.....It's still nice outside.
Justin - I used to visit a snackbar that would butter up a bearclaw and throw it on the grill for a bit. Yum!
Not a lot of visitors today, but I did manage to move several of the larger items, so it wasn't a bust. Some showers showed up about 4, which was a good time to cover everything up. I'm "opening" tomorrow, too, so everything stayed right there on the lawn.
MC - We'll have a good collection of antique and current aircraft here in a few weeks for our air show. We're hoping for some decent weather. Last year the first day featured low ceilings, which really cramps some of the aerial displays.
JoDee Messina is playing Saturday night, and I've got a "Staff" tag, so I'll get a decent view.
Good evening. Just raised my head after another snellyguster passed through, and waiting for the next one. Tonight was BBQ rib night, so had to eat out, but thanks for the thought, Paula. Sir Henhouse, reckon that other plane could have been a TBF? There is one based some where out west and goes to shows from time to time. Everyone take care.
Mudchicken, sounds like you had a very nice walk with the dogs, getting to see those planes!!
Here our Saturday Night Pizza Fest menu:
1. Anchovie
2. Goetta
3. Hawaiian
4. Pepperoni/mushroom
5. Supreme
6. Italian sausage calzones
I hope you all enjoy your meal, and I also hope that everyone had a fantastic day! (So far, we've not had any sprinkles, drizzels or anything; so that's made our day very pleasant around here.)
Think Mooks has her net out and is practicing this morning. Just came back from walking the dogs and watching my own private air show....Two AT-6's (one silver, one yellow), One Stearman (yellow), two shiny P-51's , a Grumman Bearcat (F8F?) in blue plus another bigger and slower radial/single engined plane in navy blue with white stripes flying in formation with the Stearman. They must be flying back and forth between Centennial and JeffCo fields...(the Silver B-17 with the red tail was here last weekend with the B-25.....Lots of old flying aluminum around here)
The weatherguessers have gone from mostly cloudy to the possibility of thunderstorms - not a good thing considering the pile of stuff I'm trying to sell out in the front yard...
Good Morning everyone! Partly cloudy and muggy here in Alamo City. Current temp is 78.
Expected high today is 101.
Some storms were as close as 70 miles away, but we have not gotten any.
Enjoy your Saturday!
Morning all!
Warm this morning 70*. Dad bought a Dixion 0-turn lawn mower from my grandpa last night. Just wating for him to bring it up. At least we won't have to push mow our whole yard from now on!
