Sorry if it's a repost. I did a quick search and didn't see anything similar.
I would have kicked all their tails from here to eternity. I feel bad for the engineer. Probably scared him <edited>senseless.

Not so much scared as disgusted and dread. His thoughts might go something like this:
"Oh crap, all the paperwork I'll have to fill out. Then later I'll have to go to court when the parents of the moron sues me for not stopping in time, and the railroad for not protecting their precious little darlings from the reality of the real world. Plus now I'm going to have to go underneath to pull all of the body parts that got caught under the train."
It's times like that, that I wished the locomotive toilet emptied on the tracks, and that I had manual control of when to flush.....
Based on what I can see of the locomotive, it appears to be European. Stupidity knows no boundries!
Pretty girl, too.

What type of train is it? Is it fake? it looks like a fantasy train.

I guess they don’t worry about being so close they get sucked under.
I'm a kid, 13 and a railfan. Maby it 's beacause i'm a railfan but just the thought of evan tring to step, run, or beat a train acroos the tracks just makes me sick. Those girls are just plain ignorant. I also am going to be a locomotive engineer when I grow up. It would make me feell positvialy dreadfull. If that's a bad enough word for it. I'm sure ther is no way to explain it untill you experiance hitting someone. My feelimgs go out to you engineers who have had to experiance that awful feelimg. Just last weekend I was trackside at Lafayette IN and saw 2 boys walking right beside a NS manafest train. WHAT IF A COUPLER BROKE? It would cutt them in 1/2 right?

Justin, you certainly are thinking right. There is something else to think about: what if something is hanging out from a car, and it hits you? Even if the train is moving slowly, it could do great damage. You have the right idea: keep away from a moving train.

Do the Darwin awards have a, "We tried, but failed," category?
If so, we have a nominee!

The same thoughts apply to:
People that run the lights at crossingsIdiots that try to get on my train Idiots that don't get out of the way walking on the tracks
If someone is dumb enough to do something like that, why should I feel remorse or regret for their actions? The only ones I feel bad enough are for their family and the ones who have to bare the punishment for one person's stupidity.

I just simply don't understand why kids think it is alright to walk in front of a 70,000 ton moving train. I've seen a vid. of a lodad of pipe fall off of a 40' flatcar. Imagine that hitting you! I had a kid critasize me for liking trains one day at school. He said trains are killing machines. I sad yah thay are if great care and caution aren't excerside around them. Shesh folks are silly these days.
Obviously not in the U.S. There have been instances here in SE Arizona of illigal border crossers being told to sleep between the rails along railroad tracks because snakes can't get to them. But the traction motors on a diesel engine hang down so low that they barely clear the railhead on turnouts and crossovers, and the individuals get crushed by the locomotives.
The Gene Pool tends to be self-cleaning
Have fun with your trains
If little miss smiley tried that here it would be a different story and she wouldn't be smugly laughing afterwards. Lets hope her parents saw this and took appropriate action. I would ground her for, I don't know, five years or so. Then wonder how my kid could be so stupid!
Justin, I had somebody make a comment to me once too about my running to see a train after school. If they say anything remember, there are currently more than 58,000 of us on your side (number at bottom of main forum page). And hey, that ain't half bad.
bubbajustin ....... He said trains are killing machines.
....... He said trains are killing machines.
It would be interesting to ask Justin's school acquaintance why he said that. I'd bet it's because he or someone in his close family had a relative (or friend) that was killed or injured by a train - most likely at a grade crossing or trespassing accident. The kid would likely never admit that the person was at fault, but it might be illuminating for him to discuss it further.

zardozWell, if those mean engineers would stop swerving and aiming at trespassers and cars at crossings, we'd all be safer out there.
They just started installing steering wheels in all our locomotives....
