What this KCS/former IC GP10 is setting on almost looks like model train track on the floor:)

Well, it does say it's temporary track.

I had to look twice, though.  With those plates on the end of the ties it almost looked like it was wood ties clad with steel.

Temporary panel track set in place for construction purposes, very short term. This will never see ballast and probably has a similar skeleton turnout. (The regular type temporary hopover turnout is not expected to handle locomotives or railcars - just track maintenance equipment.)

Must be hard for the engineer to see out of the windows. Are thay transpareent so when a railfan snaaps a shot at night it doesn't blind the crew? That is defanatly temporary track so the r.r. can get m.o.w. equipment out of the way and things like that.
