P2K EMD HO switcher replacement wheel sets for traction tire
Posted by RDG1519 on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 7:49 AM

Walthers sent me an e mail saying they no longer have the plain geared wheelsets without traction tire in stock and that they will not have them unless they redo this great swithcher.

My question is what are my options short of buying another switcher to steel the wheels from? The traction tire is a real pain as it goes through turnouts causing intermittant power loss and stalling.

Your help is appreciated.

We normally discuss 12" to the foot here - you'll have better luck over on the MR forums.

Good luck with your search.

But here is some advice anyway, avoid traction tires.  A well made model doesn't need them and they are nothing but problems.
