Christmas is approaching, gang, and the old hormones of nostalgia are beginning to secrete....
During the early-to-mid 1960s I remember a one time visit to an outdoor estate railway in the western suburbs of Chicago. It was located along the north side of U.S. Hwy. 20 (Lake St.) a few miles west of Illinois 59. The owner built the line through some woods in his backyard and would occasionally run his 10-inch, 12-inch, or 15-inch gauge trains that the public could ride. The area was quite rural then, so finding the place wasn't hard; but, I'm pretty sure today the trains are gone.
Does anyone reading this message have any further information or comments about this miniature railway operation?
It is now a RV dealership. I think that the depot still stands and is being used for the RV dealership office.
An "expensive model collector"

Well, at least "adaptive reuse" kept the structure from being destroyed entirely. - a.s.
