I toured an Acela train at New Jersey Transit's "Try Transit Festival" in Hoboken today.
With the fares they charge it will be my only time on one. But, I must say it was beautiful!
Nice, nice equipment. Very comfortable! It's a darn shame that it's too little too late as far as catching up with European high speed trains, but again, it's a beautiful train!
Make the fares a little easier on the pocket for the average person, and it would fill them up mighty fast.

Actually, it is a very ugly train with a very strange, meaningless name.

Well, I agree about the name. The more you say it ya kinda get used to it..........
The interior was nice. It was comfortable to sit in the Business Class and First Class. And it was set up nicely inside. Of course the stuff was not even a year old yet.
As far as the outside goes, it's not all that bad.
My friend seemed to marvel at the outside more than I did. Yeh, it's ok. I liked the interior.
If they had done this 20 years ago, maybe the look and the name would have improved by now.
But I think it's pretty good looking all in all.
