The Ringling Bros Circus Train arrived in UP J-Yard (near Alameda and 25th, adjacent to Alameda Corridor) last night (July 14.) The employee dorm cars were cut off and stored on the Walker Line.
The animal cars were shoved into J-Yard spur (track 106) and the animals off-loaded. The elephants left several large organic "land mines" near the railroad shanty.
The equipment flat cars were configured into a continous ramp and the cargo off-loaded onto 25th Street. Today, UP job YJY68R-15 hauled out the cars, tailing out towards Metrolink 9th Street Northeast Connector, then shoving back onto the Wilmington Sub storing the cars in Nadeau Siding.
The circus train will be re-loaded on Sunday after the final performance at Staples Center. Best views of the loading will be from the 25th Street (south side) of the yard.
