Dale,
I checked. They are not the same person.

Trust me in a case from one of your forum moderators is just that protecting his friends and in emails telling him what happen he ( in my words cared less) just edit my statement and left the flamie thread and other post there I realy dont care if they dont like what I say if the truth hurts them and they dish it out and cant take it then they need to grow up. my post was not vulgar nor did i threaten anyone but i did state a point and ment what i said, thats when the BMW hit the button. If the moderators on here cant tell a statement from an attack then maybe they should be banned. we work for the railroads we know what happens and some of us before railroading had other jobs that we can offer the truth on differant subjects, not just read a book and claim to know it all cause as you know we are in the real world, and most generally its 180 from the book.
In closing all it boils down to is its your forum and you run it the way you want you have read my post for years and sometimes sent me messages. never did you tell me i had to clean things up or that you found my post offensive, but that you always got a kick out of them, Even thru the M&M era. I will continue to post what is the truth even if it hurts some feelings here and even call the bluff of others posting BS. and sometimes I will even post my 2 cents worth.
Have fun with your trains

Bergie,
Can you compare MichaelSol's and Norman Saxon's IP address? They appear to be the same person.
Unless, of course, they are using public computers, like in a library.

WHAT?
I have to agree, wabash1. I can't make a lot of sense of what you posted. Would you please take another crack at it? Maybe some specifics if it will build a case for what I think you are saying.

What I got out of his posting:
He said a moderator ruled against him and for a friend. That wasn't fair. He doesn't think people that don't work for a railroad and learned things out of a book should express things as facts, when they aren't. He will give you facts and while he is a little rough around the edges, he still knows his railroading. He tries not to be vulgar, but people should have a little thicker hide about some things
I don't think he suffers fools lightly!
I hope I got that right, Wabash.

Wow,
You speak Wabash?
So, ask him what he did with the mirror....

This is offensive.

And I think he gave the mirror to his switch foreman....
Was wonder about that...we keep getting NS Dash9s with the right side mirror missing...
But I bet their switchmen dont have a single hair out of place...

Why did you check? And what did you find?

Norman -
I believe that Ed's first post in that thread was merely making a suggestion, not trying to be mean or insulting.
Excuse me, but what kind of gall does someone have to have to suggest renaming a topic when in fact the chosen topic title aptly followed the title and content of the article in question? Frankly I found his initial post rather condescending. Then he goes off slandering a former member (yes, I checked past posts by both edblysard and futuremodal), basically the pot calling the kettle black.
Is this the same edblysard who has in the past penned for TRAINS magazine? If you ask me they are two completely different people, just based on what I've seen here so far. My two cents.
Just out of curiosity, why would you think something like that?
PS - I think you offended Michael with that one! You really should apologize.
I am doing my best to keep this thread alive, dubious though it is in my view. I have deleted a number of posts, the intent of which were to impugn one of the members, and which I feel were a directed and offensive attack. Regrettably, as Bergie pointed out, by doing the deleting I have necessarily deleted posts of innocents who were dealing with the subject honourably...the daughter posts that automatically get deleted if the responder used the "reply to post" function in the message that I deleted. I can't help it. But perhaps it will serve to illustrate what he meant in his reply earlier for those who have been following. It really muddles things that come afterward.
I think I can speak for Bergie when I say that users who provoke others with inappropriate comments can expect to have their priviliges suspended temporarily or revoked permanently if they repeat the behaviour after private warnings to desist.
Bergie has given you an answer.

I don't believe there was any identity confusion. I was a poor attempt to make a joke at you and Michael Sol's expense.
Don't be overly upset. You are one of the handful of posters here that have anything productive to add when the rare topic of any real interest shows itself. You have the dubious honor of being attacked because of it.
And, on that note, I think Tharmeni has a wonderful suggestion. Can we move on?

Dan,
Even with dynamic IP addresses a specific geographical area can still be determined. Here is an interesting link that demonstrates this capability:

Dynamic IPs "hold up" so to speak until the user logs off and/or shuts down the PC. After logging back on a new dynamic IP is assisgned to that user. Right now I'm physically located in San Francisco but my dymanic IP has me in San Jose, 50 miles south of here. My dynamic IP address changes daily and is automatically assigned by my internet provider. However, with sophisticated software, someone could probably find my exact street address and what I had for breakfast this morning.

Thanks for the info, I'm currently using Vista and shutter at the thought of going to the DOS prompt. I'm afraid my pc would never recover....

What about the regenerative IP's???
Good play on dynamic.
