Took a break from processing new pictures to do some scanning and wanted to share these two images from a 1998 trip to Spokane First, is of a chop-nosed BN SD9, formerly DM&IR pulling a string of cars out of Yardley.

Second is a freshly delivered Dash 9 (#4810) in a incomplete paint scheme sitting next to an old CB&Q SD9 driller. Moments after I took this shot I was surrounded by a group of BNSF employees (all Northern Pacific vets) who thought I was from the "Santa Fe" - a spy from corporate sent to catch them doing things wrong. When they learned I was a railfan, they became very friendly and kind.
