While much of the content was devoted to passenger trains (naturally!), Mr. Phillips did bring up the subject of railfan photography. Mr. Phillips stated that there is no law that forbids taking photos from public property; photgraphers are within their rights to take pictures of anything from public property. Just the same, defending this right has taken some persistence and defense from lawyers.
