....Look at that stuff....and it seems the camera lens is "fogged" over.  Sure is nasty looking.

Sure enough, at about 8:30 this morning the winds began to churn up from the west to east and a little more snow began falling (in addition to the approx. five inches we received last night and into early this morning), with the result being snow has been depositing on the web-cam camera lens which essentially points in a westwardly direction.  Those of us in the NE Illinois area should watch ourselves while driving today.  I just came back inside after using my snow blower to clear my drive and walkways (oh joy, and just as I am recovering from a thirty six hour bout with the flu!, but it has to be done).  Happy New Year and Happy Winter in the Midwest!

I think I had a bug similar to yours, Jim.  Kept me in bed for most of the day yesterday; today I ache in places I didn't even know were there.  We had to get out and take our baby girl and her husband to Midway this morning; roads were pretty good, considering.

The snowfall here is picture perfect, so far--wind hasn't come up like it is supposed to (and the camera shots at Rochelle could be an indicator of what we'll be getting later).  Pat had sympathy for me and shoveled out our driveway herself--she knows I've never been sick like this before!

Time to get back to bed.
