On Sat my wife and I had a chance to stop and see the Tehachapi Loop. We drive OTR and had to park at Keene and hike the three miles to the top. Saw five trains on the way up. We got to the top and crossed the tracks and found a bench to rest. This is part of a memorial to two railroaders that lost thier lives in Bakersfield. Soon a train came along going down grade. It was a little foggy but we still could see all the action. I have heard of this place many times but to be here and see hoe the trains go around the loop is something to see. Soon after the train passed a high rail truck came by and told us we had to leave. He said they had had trouble lately and we had to go back across the crossing and behind the fence. He was real nice about it and we did as we were told. In no time we heard another train going up hill. Four -9's up front and two behind. That was all and we headed back. Saw two more trains on the hike back. One was a unit coil train. What a wonderful day we had.
Want to thank the train crews for the show. Thank God for the nice day. If you can go and see this place. It really needs a viewing platform like Rochelle IL.

This web address did not work, is it correct?
Hmmm...not sure why...
Its video from a derailment at Tehachapi
Anyway...shortly after Expresslane's visit, the BNSF derailed 22 cars near tunnel #7. Line will be shut down until Monday, perhaps Tuesday...due to Hazmat products in some of the spilled containers.
Happened at 335 Sat.
