Milpitas 1978 Question
Posted by Erie Lackawanna on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 12:13 PM

Does anyone recall the symbols of the SP locals to the Ford plant on the
Milpitas Line?

As I'm scanning the slides from my 1978 San Jose visit, I have the shot above and a few others of a turn that came in with empty autoracks and left with loaded autoracks (came in from
the north, and left heading back north again). Unfortunately, I didn't get a good unobstructed shot of the train... this is the best I did.

I'm just curious if this was a once a day operation that had a specific symbol
and/or name that someone remembers, or was this one of a dozen such trains a day
and there's simply no way to tell what it is?
