 I had a chance to work with a 3d printer a few years ago.  It's good for making prototypes but not for any quality work.  You are limited on the types of materials that you can print with. Even so, it's very clever technology.     -  Rich

The technology may already be available to build your house in scale. The 3D Architect programs are getting cheaper all the time. A starting place may be a good photo with a yardstick to determine dimensions. With all the laser tools on the market, it should be easier to determine the size of your picture window.

This is a make yourself home fabrication machine. This machine has been designed for use at home by tinkerers and many people have built and worked with it, using everything from peanut butter, to slicon impregnated with metal. Its designers have opened up the 3D fabricator to normal everyday people to see what innovation can be done, with the hope of relazing a machine that can actually reproduce itself.

The techonolgy employed in this machine is state of the art and is hoped that this will do what open source technology did for the personal computer. Exciting technology to say the least.
