Any Christian ought to know that.

I will admit it's hard not to give in to our sadistic nature, though, but that's no excuse. That's part of the reason we have laws instead of mob rule (mob rule would be democracy in action, no?)
[/quote]

Exactly!! The thought process of "vengeful mob" might be fun (for some) to play around with, banter about how they would administer justice if it was up to them... And it just makes me think how lucky I am to have the law to protect me from that side of the human experiance too.

It is truly bizaare how a persons guilt in a crime matters not so much as does an attorney's ability to convince 12 emotional people that the person committed the crime.

And, prosecutors often trump up their cases, "going for the gold" if you will, as though it were sport. Their thinking being that the courts can be so forgiving that opening the proceedings with inflated charges somehow offeres to balance the system.

I'm a big believer in law and order, and serving JUSTICE onto those responsibl.

But this mob mentality is truly the ugliest side of humanity I have ever seen.

What it boils down to is that the reality of guilt takes a back seat to the mobs desire to see evil punished,..ala Salem witch trials
