Today, June 15th was able to get out to Wunotoo, NV (MP260.1) on Union Pacific’s Nevada Sub east of Sparks, NV to watch Intermountain Rigging & Heavy Haul unload a Wartsila engine/generator set.

After arriving they were just finishing up cutting the unit from heavy duty flat KRL 70925. After lunch, they were ready for the lift, after lifting the Wartsila engine/generator set off the flat the car was pulled out of the way. Next the heavy haul rig, a Bigge company unit, was backed in under the engine/gen set. After lowering the engine/gen set on the heavy haul road combination, it was chained to the platform. Ready for the haul, the rig with load head out towards the construction site at walking speed.

It turned out to be very interest watching them work on this move.
