What did I miss?
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, August 26, 2005 11:22 PM
I was out this evening around 8:00 when I hear a train horn, not uncommon, except it went on for about 5-8 minutes. I figured something must have been going on so I grabbed my camera and hopped into the car and we headed down to the nearest railroad crossing. Nothing, no train, nothing. The noise had come ore from the direction of the Nampa freight yard so I headed down to it you get a pretty good view behind Fred Meyers, nothing there. No trains moving. If I had a scanner I would have turned it on to see what was going on when I heard the horn.
Did I just miss some excitement, this evening down at the Nampa train yard? Why would an engineer blow the horn for so long?

James, you totally missed it man! It was a HUGE railfan par-tay!
The Engineer jumped-train to chat with us (too bad for the conductor)
But we had a few, talked about the changing climate with the RR's... ya'know- just chit-chat.
Anywho- you shoulda been there...
Maybe next time?

I'll say, a much better idea than a kegger with the scabs at Northwestern. [;)]

jj- dude, you need to shorten your sig!
I'm a believer also, but there is such a thing as too much! (1/16 post, 15/16 sig?)
'course I tend to spam the boards with pics- so who am I to say?
I like your intent!

What a Kegger? Is it normal to hear a rail horn nonstop for 5 minutes?

You WILL COMPLY! (unless I'm wrong- in which case- disregard this post)
