I was out this evening around 8:00 when I hear a train horn, not uncommon, except it went on for about 5-8 minutes. I figured something must have been going on so I grabbed my camera and hopped into the car and we headed down to the nearest railroad crossing. Nothing, no train, nothing. The noise had come ore from the direction of the Nampa freight yard so I headed down to it you get a pretty good view behind Fred Meyers, nothing there. No trains moving. If I had a scanner I would have turned it on to see what was going on when I heard the horn.
Did I just miss some excitement, this evening down at the Nampa train yard? Why would an engineer blow the horn for so long?
