Despite being young, I've always prefered the trains of yesteryear to modern ones (although I still love them, too). The history of railroading has always appealed to me greatly and, in my mind, the wonderful streamliners of years ago were the greatest thing the rails have ever seen. The thing about the Canadian is that it's really the last true streamliner left in North America. It uses it's original equipment, runs on the same route (OK, not really, but it still goes from Toronto to Vancouver) and provides the same high-class service in the tradition that it always has. This is what train travel is all about! This will certainly be a special trip for me...and I'm quite sure that it won't be my last ride on the Canadian!
