Just seen in Danville, VA

First time I have ever seen a CSX rail train come thru on the NS main. The loco was a ex Conrail C40-8W, sorry could not get number. It was southbound, fully loaded. The cars were old gon's with the ends cut out, and a new centre car was in the train. I was suprised that no buffer cars were used, on the NS and Sou they always use a buffer car (box or gon) at each end of a loaded rail train.

No, the cars were lettered CSXT. A friend just let me know that CSX is doing a mantinance blitz on their main line in North Carolina he thinks this is why the train came thru here(detour or a work train for the porject)
