A friend just let me know that CSX is doing a mantinance blitz on their main line in North Carolina he thinks this is why the train came thru here(detour or a work train for the porject) Reply spbed Member sinceDecember 2001 From: Austin TX 4,941 posts Posted by spbed on Saturday, April 9, 2005 7:19 AM Maybe it was a NS train using a still not painted loco in C/rail colors? The loco was a ex Conrail C40-8W, sorry could not get number. It was southbound, fully loaded. The cars were old gon's with the ends cut out, and a new centre car was in the train. I was suprised that no buffer cars were used, on the NS and Sou they always use a buffer car (box or gon) at each end of a loaded rail train. Reply Join our Community! Our community is FREE to join.
