I was brought up that you should treat others the way you would want to be treated and if you don't have anything nice to say to someone than you shouldn't say anything at all. I'm trying to learn from people and if I don't understand, I keep on asking until I do. Did it in school with some subjects because if I didn't than my alternative was to fail. I don't recall any of my teachers insulting me for doing it either. There are those who have the knowledge but it's hard to listen to someone's response if one sentence is the learning part and the other sentence is an insult-the learning process has effectively been spoiled and that's unfortunate.
