To give a more specific answer to this question, <br />CD-05 and CD-06(there was also a CD-03)were U.P.'s <br />early rostering for the units and they were custom <br />built for the City of Denver. There would not have <br />been a specific model number-e.g. SW-1, GP-7, E-3, <br />etc. as during that time in history, passenger <br />diesels employed a carbody produced in conjunction <br />with a passenger car builder with internal parts <br />and running gear(largely off the shelf items here <br />in the case of EMC/EMD)provided by a locomotive <br />builder prior to the introduction of "catalogue" <br />or specific model types.
