Echoing Murphy's sentiments above - Let me add another one to the list:

Western Pacific: The Railroad that was Built Too Late, by Spencer Crump, Trans-Anglo Books, 1963, 3rd printing 1965, 48 pp., softback, about 5'' x 8'', B&W photos, fair map but a good profile in the middle.  A good introductory overview up until then.

First one to PM me gets it in the mail, for free.

I will take the Story of Steam If Possible.  I will PM you my Address

Ed- sent the package this morning.  I couldn't get any takers on the other books, so I sent you 2.  The post office lady said you'd be lucky to see them before Christmas.  Enjoy.

Murph got them today.  Now if I can get the pain out of my body enough to enjoy them I will be happy.  Called I had a Seizure yesterday and then ate airbags during it.

Took a quick look at them if you have anything else you want to send me Send them THIS WAY.  I will enjoy them.

Actually,  I have quite a few railroad books needing new homes.  Do you have any specific interest?

Anything really use your best judgement.  Favorite RR's are the Santa Fe and any and all RR's that are now part of it.  Conrail Northfolk Southern and alot of the smaller Regionals.  So about anything will make me happy.

 Goodmorning gang.Cool

Well I have finished the Western Pacific book. First one to reply gets next crack at it. It's a short book from the 50s. Not exactly a fresh release, but it was an interesting read. The historic prospective was different.

As for Leaders Count, I'm just about done. It's been a very informative and entertaining book.  Two thumbs up to Kaufman (?sp)

Chad -

Leaders Count is on my 'to be read' list, too, but I was waiting to see if anyone else wanted to borrow it.  Since it appears not - you can send it back along with the WP book - I'll send you the address via PM.  But I'd rather find a new home for the WP book - anyone want it ?

Lord knows I have too many books already,  but reading one more sure won't hurt.  I'll PM my address for the WP book.  Thanks

Chad - That's all good - send the WP book on to Norris.

If no one else speaks up for Leaders Count, then I'd like to have the opportunity to read it.

Norris, The WP book is in the mail. It rode around in the truck a couple extra days because I didn't feel like standing in holliday lines at the post office.

Paul, My dad is reading Leaders Count. I'll post when he's done.

Thanks,  I'm looking forward to it.  I've run out of railroad books to read.  Currently I'm reading a book about Airpower, and one about Hank Williams.  How's that for 2 totally unrelated subjects?

A note to all:  I still have some books needing new homes.  I have several that could be considered general histories of American railroading.  They're good books with photos, etc.,  but on the light reading side.  Maybe some of our younger forum members would be interested?  Justin?

Murphy, for the WP book's next destination - since I believe you took it as kind of a 'last resort' -  so how about to Ed Benton ?  A few posts above he expressed in interest in almost anything rail-related, and from his other posts on the 'trucking'-related threads I know he has a deep interest in transportation in California.  Just a thought . . . Whistling

Chad-  I got the book today.  I sat down and read it cover to cover,  all 48 pages!  It's always interesting to read something with a certain date perspective.  The fact that this little book was written in 1963 adds some flavor to the story.  Thanks for sending it.  It will be heading east again from here.
