It really has nothing to do with disk space or storage, we're good in that regards (thankfully).  It's more about the performance hit when long threads like this are posted to, edited, viewed/read, etc.

Wow, never knew a thread could get big enough to overwhelm a server...

Anyhow, have some fish ready for me, I'll be passing through quick as I'm first out...

I'll try to be back by New Years Eve...

Doesn't a new diner mean upgrades as far as a warmer bar, fridge, stoves, etc?  Plus I vote for cushy seats!  Maybe a couple of hammock stations....and a kitty door!

Good Saturday morning, everyone!  Looks like I'm not the only one running late this morning.  Oh well, that happens sometimes, doesn't it?

Coffee is now ready, juice is made, and there is hot chocolate and hot tea.

On the breakfast bar this morning, you will find:  turkey bacon, sausage patties and sausage links, sausage gravy, homemade buttermilk biscuits, oatmeal, grits, cream of wheat, toast, pineapple chunks, apples, pears, bananas, pancakes, waffles and bagals.

We've got a current temp of 40 degrees this morning, and the rain isn't supposed to come in until later this afternoon, early evening.   Hope all our friends in the Denver area are managing o.k.; mudchicken is probably still shoveling, although I hope he took a break to rest up and get some sleep.

Everyone have a great, and safe day, and please make it back in for our SATURDAY NIGHT PIZZA FEST.  I'll start preparing the pizzas around 3:30 this afternoon.  So have your orders in before then, please.

Well, YES!  Actually we did a "remodel" a while back, but it never hurts to upgrade!

Finally getting some snow.  I was lazy yesterday and didn't run in to the home center for a little more mulch so I could finish the front of the house.  Think I'll stick close to home today, too....

And speaking of new diners, the all new DD&CS is now open.  We'll see you all over there!

Good bye, fare well, it's sad to see you goooooooo.  Sad [:(]

I have honored Trains.com's request and have started a new  coffee shop.  Please go ahead and say your goodbyes here then begin posting in the new DD & CS.  They will probally lock or delete this shop within a few days.  Yes, it will be sad to see it go, but we can all meet in the new one.  I am thankful for the many new friends I have meet here at trains.com and the coffee shop. I will see everyone in the new shop.

Goodbye for now.

So long, Depot Diner and Coffee Shop.  At least we have a new location, and I think the guys have dismantled all the train layouts, the juke box, the CD player, speakers, etc.  Just taking a final look around to make sure everything is unplugged, dismantled, packed up, etc., before I turn off the lights and close and lock up this place that was never closed.

Jim, thank you for opening the very fine establishment almost two years ago.  I think everyone has had a fantastic time in here, and I know we'll continue to have a fantastic time in our new DD & CS.

Well, I guess when a person is gone for a day big changes happen! I'll post what I was going to say in the new Diner, then. I'll be sad to see this one go.

That means for a while the infamous "humor" thread will be #1 (in quantity at least. (as if that reallymeans anything...).Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

However, it will not be long until DD&CS 2.0 surpasses the humor thread once again Smile [:)].

Hey folks, any time an uninitiated person quizzes any of you about how many people are "into" rail-fanning and begin to make snide comments about "the few nuts who watch trains", simply tell them about the number of people who visit the DD&CS (both then and at the new location), as well as the comeradery that exists...not only on this forum but in general within the rail-fanning community at large...and then just tell them to simply SHUT THE HECK UP!
