Sad A railroad track belongs to Quebec-Gatineau Railway was seriously damaged by vandals near Saint-Maurice street, into the town of Trois-Rivières (Three Rivers) in the province of Quebec between Montreal and Quebec City in the north shore of St.Lawrence River at the Cap-de-La-Madeleine sector early Thursday morning in october 9.

They are used an heavy machinery located in a construction site close to the railroad. Quebec-Gatineau estimated the damages in a few 5000 Canadian $.

The track was moved. The rails was been lift up. The rails are was even been to pull off. The vandals had used an heavy equipement precise the Quebec-Gatineau's Railway president Mario Brault.

Fortunately,no trains had traveled on that railroad track before that these vandalism act had been discovered.

The breaks could be causing a derailment. «An accident could be happen. We are been very lucky.

It's deplorable that people have fun to doing the things similar»,mentionning Mr Brault.

Quebec-Gatineau expected Thursday afternoon that everything is repaired at the dinner. These breaks had not led delays seeing that no rail trafic was planned during the day of Thursday.

C'est une honte, n'est-ce-pas?  It is a shame that such things go on.  The vandals are likely to return, too.

Je vous acceuil au forum.

Yes,it's a shame. I hope that these vandals are arrested by the Trois-Rivieres police and brought in court and then in jail for their misdeed.

Thank you for my welcome to this rail forum

Too bad perpetrators of these types of crimes could not be charged with attempted homicide. Faced with doing 10 to 20 years of hard time might just cause them to reconsider their actions.

I take it Canada has no security like the good ol US of A?

Where were the cops when these yahoos were ripping up the track in the middle of the night no less?

Does this town have cops? (constables on patrol )

I take it they didnt do this in broad daylight?

I guess I am confused why you think this happened under the cops "noses" (I assume you meant)? I am pretty sure we have crime in cities too which shows Police can't be everywhere all the time.

Of course it happens in the U.S.

But the media in this country always acts like that sort of thing ONLY happens in the U.S. According to them, the rest of the world is a Star Trek-like paradise where everyone is happy and nothing bad ever happens.

That's probably what threw the guy asking about the security.

Reality TV is to reality, what Professional Wrestling is to Professional Brain Surgery.

More like episode #25 of the first season, where the Enterprise visits a planet where the inhabitants have been exposed to spores that mellow everyone out. Even Spock gets pacified.

I didnt read the story,Im simply commenting to the original post,Maybe I shouldnt have said anything, since I wasnt there..But,Im assuming they were there for more than five min.trying to rip up the rail ! So I just asked where were the cops, did anyone see them and report it,is this location in the middle of nowhere and they could have been there all night without being seen...

Maybe a QGRY worker could have seen these terrible act on the railroad track after the vandals had run away.

I really don't know what happen and where these vandals had been hide.

That's a newspaper that reports these terrible misdeeds causing on the QGRY track.

That's a very sad story. I hope that these vandals are put in justice and then to jail for a long time.

Iraq was paradise according to the Libs, then we screwed it up. Never mind Hussein was killing his own people by the thousands.

Fellas, what say we return the OP's thread, his first since joining only a few days ago, to him.  We have strayed far afield.
