Special post from Tom Danneman, Trains Art Director

On May 9, 2010, Montana Rail Link's Gas Local rolls along the Flathead River east of Perma, Montana. Tom Danneman photo

I'm lucky enough to be heading out to Big Sky Country Montana tonight to catch up on some rest and relaxation, and maybe do a little train-watching along the Montana Rail Link between Missoula and Sandpoint, Idaho.

O.K., you got me. I'll probably do more train-watching than rest and relaxation. Really though, they are one in the same to me.

I thought it would be fun to share some of my experiences with the great readers of Trains magazine, and this website. Check us out from Thursday, May 19, through Monday, May 23, on Twitter (@TrainsMagazine) as well as Facebook (www.Facebook.com/TrainsMagazine). Look for "^TD" to see my updates. I'll do my best to keep everyone up to date about what is happening along the railroad. Hopefully, I'll be able to share a few photos as well.
