I have a vintage Playskool Express Train from 1988 and would like to know if anyone knows where I can get parts for the cars. I need the black plastic pieces that connect the trains together (it's a movable black hook). Over the years my children have lost them and I would like to set it up for my granchildren. Also, I'm missing the wheels for the truck that came with the set. Other than that I need to fix the traction for the Engine. Does anyone have any idea how I go about doing this. I'm new to the train game and I'd really like to get the grandkids interested in trains and collecting.
go to Ace hardware or someplace well stocked hardware store.
I used 1-5/16 OD o-rings x 1/8" thick but I think 1-5/16 x 1/16th thick might work better.
You have to take the bottom off to remove the wheels with the pistons to put the o-rings on.
I used Nitrile (rubber) o-rings and it was a lot better than nothing but it still slips a bit when pulling several cars around the curves.
