You'll probably have to fiddle with your mouse settings to do this, but on mine, I use the scroll normally to move the page up and down. If I press Ctrl+scroll at the same time, it changes the text size.

Works In Firefox on a creaky old computer, which fits my creaky old eyes now that I'm getting to be an old fart.

It has so far been entirely seamless for me.  No gazillion notifications, the text is just fine, and everything works just marvey.  It just takes some getting used to.  And I'm still on IE8.

Actually, there is one change that is obvious to me....my avatar is about 70% of the area it used to take up on my screen.  It has gone from tiny to reaaaaaalllllly tiny.

1. Is it possible to have the "EMAIL ME REPLIES TO THIS POST" check box un-checked as the default rather than the other way around?  I prefer not have reply notices sent to my e-mail address if I forget to un-check the box.  There also doesn't appear to be a way to change that in edit mode once you've posted.

It seems the default setting is now to "EMAIL ME REPLIES TO THIS POST". If you go to  your profile, you can unclick this setting.

I know I am not a computer whiz and that the techies feel things need to be updated, whether the computer non genieus,' like me, think so or not.

I agree, would like to see the posters location listed on their post.  Have found some folks near me when it was there.

Also, the date of the original post showing on the list, not waiting until you open it.

Would be nice to go to the page you wanted, not have to go to page 1 each time.  Especially true on something like "More Signs," which takes a while to load anyhow.

Tried to add a tag to my thread, list only went as far as coal.  How do you get to page 2 or more of the tag list?

Must admit I have no idea what some of the questions mean.  I kind of stumble onto things as I go.  Will keep stumbling for another two years, when they update it again, to keep me stumbling.

It would be nice if the number of posts a person has was shown.  Hard to welcome new folks to the forums when you  have no idea if they are new or not.

I'll figure it out someday.

Well this is just ducky, I had been spending less time on here anyway, so those of you who don't care for my directness or my sarcasm might just get your way and hear even less from me.

it seems that space is used poorly

• there is a lot of white space above/below the biege/yellow box saying "Want to contribute"
• on the main page for each forum, the text: "Posted by", Viewed", "Latest post" appears repeatedly.  couldn't the poster name appear in the left hand column above the icon/avatar? Couldn't the number of views be in a column along side the number of replies?    Could the date of the original post be listed under the subject of the post?    Could the subject column be wider or span across all the other columns?
• the pages listing the replies spread each reply out vertically, requiring a lot of scrolling to move through the posts.   there is space between the boxes containing each post, and there is space at the top listing the poster and space at the bottom containing the reply button and probably some other optional icons.   could the top and bottom boxes be combined into one box, especially if the column width is widened.  Having different background colors for the poster info and post text would avoid the need to have space between the replies.
• the width displaying the response seems quite narrow.   I guess it needs to be fixed because of the various tables containing search, info and advertisements on the top right side of the page.   these only appear near the top of pages containing many posts, wasting that space (width) below them. Couldn't some of the search and info boxes be moved to top or bottom of page, advertisements could be scattered between posts, leaving the entire width of the page for the replies which could now be set by the user (not fixed) by setting the width of the browser window.

I wish there were an html tag (i.e. <a name=) at the beginning of the first post which i could bookmark.  but i assume this would encourage people to skip advertisement.   placing advertisements between posts would avoid this and still give users more flexibility.

For editing: Go to the lower left corner of your post.  There is a small diagonal "pencil" icon - click on it.  That's the editing button that will open your post.

Of course I had to turn off the "mobil" view.
