New Sid Meier Offering - Railroads

  • There is a big ad in November's MR for Railroads.  It looks like a cross between RR Tycoon II and Transportation Tycoon.  There is also an article in the Washington Post that mentions it (story is really about a guy who works for Firaxis finding bugs in the games).  The Post article says mid-October release.  This is the first (and second) time I have even heard an incling about it.

  • There is an ad on this site now for this game.  In case you missed it, the link is http://www.2kgames.com/railroads/railroads.html.

Looks like the game is going to stop in the 1970's.  That leaves them the 80's to future for an add on.  Not sure how I feel about that.  The game does look like it has fixed some of the missing pieces from the last one.  Looks good too.

  • The fact that the steamies are without tenders tends to put me off. Why spend oogles of process in time on gorgeous background graphics when the fact that the locomotives are stunted sticks out like a sore thumb?

I had the same question.  The original design sketches have tenders.
