Are you as frustrated as I am when you drive the train where you want and find out that one or two or even half of your cars have broken off somewhere? follow this link to learn how to fix the couplers so they don't break.

Only happened to me once. I was ripping along a new route in explore mode, and all of a sudden I started picking up speed. By the time I got the train under control and decided to look back, there was nothing but 3 locomotives behind me. I stopped to get ready to look for them, when along comes the rest of the train....POW!! Usually when I break a coupler the simulation stops. This was a first for me.
