To be more specific , What Virtual model railroad software presents the most realistic scenic view, structure detail and best overall graphics and offers a ride along view?
Are you looking to invest time into it, or just want something that's already built?
My personal choice is OpenRails, which is free at Openrails.org and can run pretty much the entire library of routes, engines and rolling stock made over the last 15 years for Microsoft Train Simulator.
That said, I build most of my own scenery models and routes.
If you're looking to ride along on something already built and not spend a lot of time learning modeling software or the route building tools, then you might be happier with Dovetail's Train Simulator.
