What sim programs are available?

Greetings;
I don't want to start any holy wars or anything, but I would like to know what train simulation programs are available.
How realistic are they?
What are the features and shortcomings?
Which do you like best?
Are there any of them that cover the CN from Chicago south through Illinois? The NS, ne Wabash, across central Illinois?
Many thanks!
Dennis
