Metra F40s for MSTS?

  • Does anybody know where to find a Metra F40 locomotive for Microsoft Train Simulator?  I have found two so far, but not had much luck with either of them.  One, from the Means Locomotive Works (MASW), was an F40PH in an MP36PH paint scheme - I suppose I could try to reskin it but having never done that before, I don't know how it will turn out. I also found an F40C (yes, an F40C) in the trackside productions forums, but I have to be a member of that forum to download it.  If anybody finds or knows of anything, please let me know. Thanks!

  • There are several different Metra F40s on train-sim.  Not sure if they are the version you are looking for. Search the file library for Metra.  There are at least 4 different F40's.

  • There is another new one today on Train-Sim

  • Thanks!  Actually, I found a couple on train-sim.com. The one I ended up using was the one I was creating with my reskin in the first place - F40PH-2 #182.  It is annoying that I can't use that F40C, though.  I wish people would reskin FREE locomotives - not the ones you have to buy!  And the company that makes it just went out of business.  Looks like I'll be making one myself.
  • If you haven't been to http://www.train-sim.com/ and registerd there, then you are missing out. That F40C is free, however, you have to get the .s file from Streamlines, which is only $12.00 or so. I'm wating to see if anyone puts up a better F40PHm-2 than the one thats on it. Also Kurt's site at http://www.jaysmarine.com/KLW_Addons.php has a sweet MP36 in metra colors.
  • I did register there - and a good thing too!  There are so many add-ons I've downloaded there since I've registered.  Also, thanks for the tip on that site.  That MP36PH-3S is so cool.  I also downloaded a couple of CTA cars.  I agree with you on that F40PH-2M.
