Is there an EASY downloadable Tutorial.....

  • on how to make up a consist on MSTS and get it to work? I'm fairly computer-illiterate, but need some step-by -step instructions of how to get a consist made up, and for it to work properly (as well, how to turn locomotives around so you got some back-to-back). I am sure there is lots of help out there. I've been wanting to get something set up for a long time but just do not know how to go about it.

I would so much appreciate any and all help that you can help me with.

    THANKS IN ADVANCE:)
    Roger

  • Also ya might wanna go here to get some good info as well as some nice downloads and a place where you can upload your pix and look at other peoples pictures as well http://www.train-sim.com/

1-First thing ya wanna do is fire up your *Train Simulator Editors & Tools*

2-Then ya wanna click on *Activity Editor*

3-Then choose *File* then *New* and it does not matter what route ya choose cause you won't be doing anything with it anyways and then click *Ok*

4-Then over on the right it says *Player* and *Player Service* and right under that it says *New* click on *New*

5-Then choose *New* again in the *Consist* tab

6-Then pick the engines and cars you want by choosing the tab and double clicking on the car name ya wanna use in the *Rolling Stock* tab

7-After ya got that all done...You have to give it *2* names and they *BOTH* have to be the *SAME NAME* and that gets entered at the top left under the tabs *Name* and *Display Name* so for an example if ya make a rock train put in the to boxes Rock Train and Rock Train

8-After thats done then go to the bottom and click on *Save & Exit*

9-Close out of everything and get back to the desktop

10-Fire up MSTS and look for your new train and HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!

I hope this helped in some way if not drop me a message on here on what part ya stuck on and I will do my best onto help ya thru it....

  • Another tip, it will be located in the drop menu with whatever the lead locomotive is.

  • ConBuilder is also another utility you can use to make consists. The payware version with more functions is available at http://conbuilder.3dtrains.com, and there is ConBuilder Lite, the free version, over at the train-sim.com file library.
