I have Trainz 2004. I installed it on my new computor about 14 months ago and uninstalled it a couple of months ago. I've tried to reistall it and every things fine except that when you try to open the game the screen turns completely black and locks up. I've tried to go to the online part to get help and it does the same thing. I've tried reinstalling several times but the same results happen. It worked just fine before. HELP !! Thanks in advance for any suggestions here, Ken

perhaps you need newer video card drivers.

 

aslo, make sure that you've uninstalled the program completely.  sometimes those uninstall applications leave fragments of the program in C:\Program Files\. Look for C:\Program Files\Auran\ after you've run the uninstaller.
